Save the Date: Schampa Women’s Sportbike Rally IV

Deals Gap, N.C. (October 2, 2008) - The Schampa Women’s Sportbike Rally IV presented by Draggin’ Jeans is pleased to announce the 2009 event scheduled for September 11-13. Although typically held the weekend prior to Labor Day, the date was moved to accommodate participants who plan to attend the AMA Women’s International Motorcycle Conference, August 19-22, and the Indianapolis MotoGP, August 29-30.  The date may have changed, but the traditional features of the rally continue with plans to keep elements fresh and entertaining each year.

The rally will return to the Great Smoky Mountains headquartered at Fontana Village Resort in Fontana Dam, N.C. just ten miles south of the famed 318-turns in 11-miles of Deals Gap aka “The Dragon.” The rally has called Fontana home since the first event in 2006 due to the fantastic accommodations that boast modern conveniences while surrounded by beautiful mountain scenery and plenty of curvy roads.

All female sportbike riding groups, individual sportbike riding women and their guests of all riding levels are welcome to participate in the fun-filled weekend featuring group and self-guided rides, opportunities to meet amazing new people from all across the country, post ride festivities with plenty of surprises built in.

Riders and guest who attend do so knowing that, all net proceeds from the rally are donated to the Tiffany Weirbach “Sportbikegirl” Melanoma Foundation, a foundation created in memory of the original Sportbikegirl who died from the disease in 2001. Tiffany created the website www.sportbikegirl.com which, to this day, continues to inspire women to start riding sportbikes and encourage others to enjoy riding safe and smart.

ABOUT THE WOMEN’S SPORTBIKE RALLY
Established in 2006, the Women’s Sportbike Rally was created to bring riders from all across the country to connect with others who identify themselves as a sportbikegirl. Held annually in the beautiful and curvy Great Smoky Mountains, the event welcomes all female sportbike riding groups, individual sportbike riding women and their guests of all riding levels to participate in a weekend geared towards the fun of being a sportbike rider.
